Using Allo with Chat on Google My Business

As we mentioned in our previous post on Google My Business, Google has recently started rolling out their new “Chat” option that allows customers to message directly with businesses they are interested in.
This new feature is a great way for businesses to promote their customer service with low response times while building up leads.
Businesses can setup “Chat” on their Google My Business page by following the steps we have outlined here. Once your Chat is setup, your customers will be able to message you directly via SMS messages to the number you used to set the feature up.
Google has also begun promoting another Chat option, called Allo. Allo is an application that can be downloaded for use on smart devices as well as on computers. This application should work more seamlessly with Google as it is one of their own tools and does provide you with more options when it comes to chatting with your customers.
While you are inside Google’s Allo, you will still have access to Google’s other tools, including Google Assistant, and you will have the option to encrypt the messages you are sending back and forth. This encryption may help potential clients and customers feel more secure, but remember to refrain from transmitting confidential information, even with the encryption.
