Website Content May Soon Appear Directly In Google’s Local Pack Results

Google is always looking to improve the experience that users have on its platform.

When it comes to Google Business and the local pack search results, it’s no different.

Over the past few years, the search engine giant has made it possible to view food menus, book appointments, and ask questions directly on a business’ Google page. These changes were all implemented to help its users find exactly what they’re looking for in as little time as possible.

Here is what’s next:

Google recently announced that they are going to be putting website content phrases directly in its local pack results.

In late September of this year, Google officially began the rollout of the local pack website content feature after a few weeks of testing it. So, whenever someone is searching for a specific keyphrase, that phrase can now be pulled directly from a website matching the searchers’ wording and show up in Google’s local pack.

For example, for somebody looking for used cars San Francisco, here’s what Google is pulling up:

Local Pack Website Content

As you can see, the first two results for this phrase are pulling the words used vehicles and used car from their respective websites.

How does this impact the way searchers interact with Google’s search results?

This could be a big factor in attracting searchers to your website. For example, if you’re specifically looking for a used car in San Francisco and a result that is both local and mentions exactly what you’re searching for shows up, there is a good chance that you are going to be clicking through to that page over another result that does not mention this.

Add in the fact that Google bolds the keyphrase you are searching and it becomes increasingly likely that it’s going to attract the attention of searchers.

It looks like Google is launching this feature across several locations and for many phrases, and it shouldn’t be long before it shows up in every local search result.

We know that Google is constantly testing new features, always trying to stay one step ahead of consumers. The latest feature to pull keyphrases from a webpage and list it in its local pack could be a game changer in local search.
