How To Create A Facebook Page For Your Business

With more than 2 billion active users on Facebook every month, creating a business page on this social media platform can help broaden your company and reach more people through digital marketing. Step 1: Create A Page

To sign up on Facebook, simply go to, and click “Create a Page”. You will then be directed to a new page where you can choose what type of business you are creating, such as: Local Business or Place; Company, Organization or Institution; Artistic, Band or Public Figure; or Entertainment.


Once you select your business type, you will be asked more specific questions in regards to your company. If you are a small business owner, you can type in your business name, address and phone number, then click “Get Started”. If you are a Company, Organization or Institution, you can select the category of your business, type in your company name, and then click “Get Started.”


Step 2: Insert Photos

Now that your business page is created, you want to make it more appealing by uploading photos to your page. This can visually make your page more interesting and draw in more viewers. It is also a chance to show what type of products and services you offer, so potential clients can view them firsthand.


Be mindful of the photos you are uploading, and make sure they are of good quality. Posting blurry photos makes your Facebook page less appealing, and can draw people away from your page.

Once you have uploaded at least a profile picture and a cover photo, your business page will be active.


Step 3: Describe your Company

Once your page is active, you can add a brief description on your company and the products or services you offer. This can be done by clicking “Add a Short Description”, and once you are finished, just click “save”.


Step 4: Username

Creating a Username is very important because this is how people will search for you on Facebook. Make sure your username is not complicated, and includes something simple for your clients to research you by, such as your business name. To set this up, just click “Create a Username for Your Page.”


Step 5: About Me

Do not just skip over the “About Me” section, because this is where you can get elaborate on describing your business. List your company’s key focus and fundamentals, and what can be accomplished if the viewers choose to give you their business.


Here you can also include your individual team members, your specific business information, and contact information.


Step 6: Be Active

Now that your page is completed with all the important details, you need to start engaging. This can be done by inviting friends and family to like and share your business page. You can start promoting your Facebook page through your personal website or other social media platforms such as: Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. You can also start being active on your page by posting blog posts, engaging in chat rooms, and liking other pages.
