How to Get Referrals from Real Estate, Insurance, and Financial Planning Partners You Have Never Met

Hey, I hope everybody’s doing well!

I am here at the Mortgage Marketing Animals and Freedom Club 3 day event here in Dallas, Texas and there is something I wanted to share with you today.

I just went through a very interesting experience and I thought you guys might enjoy and benefit from hearing about it.

It’s actually one of the strategies that we’re using for our Done-For-You clients in our digital marketing agency that are using actual video in their marketing.

I walked in the room right before the break and just stood in the back.

I’m nerdy!

I’m not a social, outward guy.

I love talking to people but I’m not the type of guy that would like go up and talk to people.

So I go into the room right as the break has started, and these people start coming over to me saying, “Hey Chris! What’s going on? How are things?” And in my mind, I’m thinking, “Do I know you? I am pretty sure we’ve never met before, but I think I might know you because you’re talking to me like you know me.”

One of them informed me that he watches my videos all of the time!

He starts going on about how he goes onto YouTube and starts out watching whatever he went on there to watch and always ends up watching 10 minutes of my videos on the top tips and tricks the team here at my digital marketing agency have been using for their clients.

He actually ended up thanking me for helping him with his business!

He’s never bought anything from us, he’s never interacted with us, we never met in person until today.

Now we know each other and we have a relationship and I’ll remember him next time I run into him.

I had 5 other people come up to me while I was standing in the back of the room that I have never met before in my life.

The awesome thing is, you can use this exact same strategy in your mortgage business to get more realtor referrals.

Using This for Your Business

Here’s how the strategy works.

What you do is you take videos (just like this one here) and you find something that is helpful for realtors (it could be a deal that you’re working on, a tip to help them close their deals or something as simple as what’s happening in the marketplace right now).

Here is how that turns into business for you.

Once you’ve shot the videos with the helpful tips, you can use them for advertising to target these realtors.

You can go into your Facebook ads manager, choose realtors, choose the zip code that you want to show your video to and have your videos show up on the newsfeeds of all of the realtors in your local market.

Then you continually shoot videos.

You should have, in my opinion, at least one new video that’s helping the realtors in your local community per week.

Here’s where it gets interesting and where you actually get an impact from this strategy.

Anybody that watches 25% of your video, you can put them into a custom audience on Facebook.

Anybody that has engaged in your content,  you can then show them another advertisement to book a call with you.

You have so much value to give to these people, but they don’t know about it.

By putting the videos in front of them, using advertisement, engaging them, building that bond you are giving them more of an opportunity to get to know you, to like you, and to trust you!

It is the easiest filter that you can put in front of these people.

From there, it’s just a matter of choosing who you want to do business with.

They will come to you feeling like they know you, like you, and trust you – ready to bring their leads to you – and all you have to do is figure out if the leads they will be bringing you are the kind of leads you want to be working with.
