Apple’s New Robocall Blocking Feature

Have you heard about Apple’s recent iOS 13 software update and one of its newest features that spells trouble for Robocall users?

Robocalls are phone calls that come through a computerized autodialer. They deliver pre-recorded messages to their recipients. Initially, this type of call was used for emergency and public-service announcements. However, telemarketers have jumped on the bandwagon and have been using robocalling to spam smartphones around the world. It can be frustrating for smartphone users to have to deal with silencing what can sometimes feel like an endless stream of automated calls and messages and Apple has finally come up with a solution.

At a recent Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple revealed some of the new features in their update, one of which targets and blocks those frequent scam and spam calls that so many of us are now used to. The way it works is through a setting that, when turned on, only allows numbers that it recognizes from your contacts, messages, and email. Calls outside of this group will be immediately sent to voicemail. Unless the caller leaves a voicemail, the user won’t be notified of the call. When a voicemail is left, Apple generates a transcript for users to review, so they can then decide if they want to call the number back.

With the growing frustration around unsolicited robocalls and spam calls, many people cringe when their phones ring. Records have shown that, in the U.S. alone, there were 26 billion robocalls made in 2018!

In October of last year, Google introduced its own robocall blocking feature to its proprietary Pixel phones. There have also been a variety of third-party apps released over the last year that claim to block spam and robocalls. The issue with these applications is that they are not very robust, don’t work well, and/or you are inundated with their advertisements for using their “free” apps.

While the newest Apple feature has felt like an answer to many people’s prayers, some feel that this new feature is too aggressive of a solution. What happens to the calls from people you know who are just using a payphone or alternate number to try to get ahold of you? After all, not every unknown call is a spammer or robocall. Others feel this solution doesn’t completely alleviate the issue because they are still having to remove the voicemails from their phones.

Another important question concerning this update – what does this mean for businesses who use ringless voicemails to correspond with clients and potential leads?

Connected CRM

That is where Connected CRM comes into play. Why use up your valuable time, manually reaching out to your clients to touch base or pitch an add on product or service (like a refinance or second mortgage) when you are going to be sent straight to voicemail anyways?

Instead, you should be using a system that uses updates like these to your advantage! With our Connected CRM, simply load in your client database, add them to one of our preset sequences (or create your own) and hit go! Each client will automatically be set up to receive a sequence of ringless voicemails, text messages and emails to let them know you are thinking of them and are ready to provide them with a ton of great value should they need your help with anything else.

The same goes for your incoming leads! Our Connected CRM was built to quickly and easily integrate with your lead generation funnels so that your leads and automatically being followed up with on what appears to them as an individual basis. All you have to do is sit back and watch the conversations coming rolling in!

Our system was designed specifically to help you work your leads without actually having to work your leads. We want to help free up your time so you can spend it with the qualified leads your marketing funnels are bringing in – on having those meetings and closing those loans! It also helps you combat the newest Apple feature by using the way the system now functions to your advantage.

This automated follow up feature is just one of the many phenomenal capabilities of our new Connected system. If you would like to get this system implemented for your business, or if you have any questions for our team, give us a call today at (855) 432-3990 – we’re always happy to help!
