Absolute links or relative links? That is the question.
In the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), the debate between the two is still going strong. Each one of their strengths and importances has been debated, however it seems to be the consensus that absolute links offer higher SEO value as a whole than relative links.
A lot of people are convinced that absolute links are lower-risk bets for getting tangled when your webpage is indexed by search engines. Although this shouldn’t necessarily make any difference, the majority of people agree that this a good enough reason to win the argument.
Additionally, RSS services and content scrapers could re-purpose your content. Whether it’s done legitimately or not is another question. In the end, we can all agree that a good back-link should be connected to your website, and this alone favours absolute links. However minor or major you consider this debate, it’s still worthy of a discussion.
